We are a traditional Swiss Chalet Style Hotel built in
1967 by Louis Bourban.
The Hotels name originates from a member of Napoleon's
army who fled from battle and took refuge in The Valais mountains
in the second half of the nineteenth century. "The Deserter", whose
real name was Charles-Frédéric Brun fled the police and any
authority.
He remained in the villages north of the Valais and left
only in Nendaz many colorful paintings of religious inspiration to
thank the guests for lodgings. "The defector" died in 1871 and is
buried in Basse-Nendaz Cementry. You can see reproductions of his
paintings in the chapel of St-Michel in Nendaz village.
